Access Connections Update to 3.7

It is recommended that you have a high speed Internet connection to perform this upgrade. Attempting this download on dial-up will be extremely slow. Please note that this update includes the network connection profile update recently sent to all campus ThinkPads.

1.

IBM Access Connections
a. Click the link above.
b. Choose Save. Save the file to your desktop.
c. Minimize all windows and double click ibmaccessconnections370.exe
d. At the next window, click Unzip.
e. After it unzips, click OK, then Close.
f. Double click My Computer, then (C:) drive, then ibmaccessconnection370 folder. In this folder, double click install.bat.
g. This installation will take about 3 minutes. When you return to the ibmaccessconnection370 folder, the files are finished copying.
h. Restart your ThinkPad for the new programs to complete their installations.

2.

Using Your Wireless Connection
a. When your computer fully boots up, left click on the IBM Access connections icon in the notification area.
b. This will pop up a menu, where you can select which connection to use. Select the connection relevant to your status with the University.
c. You will then be prompted for your login and password. Type this information and click OK.
d. You will then be authenticated to the wireless network. This will take between 15 and 30 seconds to authenticate.
e. You are now ready to surf the Internet.
