Cisco Systems VPN Client

Students, faculty, and staff can now securely access on-campus computing resources from off-campus locations using the new Cisco Systems VPN Client. This page will walk you through how to use VPN, or watch the demo!

Sorry, at this time VPN is not compatible with Windows Vista.

Note: You DO NOT need VPN when using an on-campus connection or WFU Dial-Up.

Connecting to VPN Client

a. Access the Internet
b. T60 users: Click Start>Internet Tools>VPN Client
Other ThinkPad users: Click Start>Programs>Cisco Systems VPN Client>VPN Client
c. On the Connection Entries tab, highlight wfu-remote-user
d. Click the Connect button
e. When prompted, enter your username and password
f. When the warning banner appears, choose OK
g. The VPN Client icon in the task tray will display as a locked padlock once the connection is established.

a. Click the link above
b. Choose Save. Save the file to your desktop
c. Minimize all windows and double-click vpn.exe
d. At the next window, click Unzip
e. After it unzips, click OK, then Close
f. Double-click the new VPN folder on your desktop, then double-click setup.exe
g. Click Next
h. Click Yes
i. Click Next
j. Click Next (should take about 60 seconds)
k. Click Yes (this will restart your computer)
l. Proceed to VPN profile installation below

a. Click the link above
b. Choose Save, then save the file to your desktop
c. Minimize all windows and double-click VPNProfile.exe
d. At the next window, click Unzip
e. After it unzips, click OK, then Close
f. The next time you start VPN, you will see the new profile
