In the spring of 2007, we had a comprehensive, campus-wide committee that analyzed various offers and selected the Lenovo R60 as the best overall choice for our students given the typical use patterns at Wake Forest. While the T61 was an option, the R represented the best combination of performance and value. The T series is an excellent computer that commands a substantially higher price for a slightly lighter and more rugged form factor. The decision to stay with an R is consistent with our choices over the past five years. We have a long history with the R series, starting in 2003 with the R40, moving on to the R51, R52, and now the R60 is the campus standard for students. With the two-year replacement cycle at Wake Forest, students can be assured that they will get the most up-to-date and appropriate technology for their interactions while at Wake Forest. - Information Systems
