HP PSC 1350

Why are all the lights flashing?
This problem occurs for two reasons: the front panel cover was not installed or the ink cartridge access door was not closed before plugging in the HP PSC 1350. Follow the steps below to correct the problem:

  1. Disconnect the power cord.
  2. Locate the front panel cover and peel off the paper backing to expose the adhesive.
  3. Lift the scanner lid and carefully line up and install the front panel overlay.
  4. Plug the power cord in.

NOTE: The print cartridge access door must be closed before the HP PSC 1350 is plugged in for the first time. It cannot complete its first initialization until the door is closed.

Follow the steps below to correct the problem:

  1. Disconnect the power cord.
  2. Locate and close the print cartridge access door.
  3. Plug in the power cord.

NOTE: The HP PSC 1350 initializes when it is plugged in for the first time. While initializing, it scans a bar code on the underside of the front panel cover. This requires that the front panel cover to be in place and the scanner to be operable. The scanner cannot operate when the cartridge access door is open.

Why does a test page print each time the power is turned on?
To resolve this issue follow the steps below:

a. Double click HP Director icon on the desktop.
b. Click Settings, scroll to Print Settings and click on Printer Toolbox.
c. Click on Print Test Page.
d. A window appears; Click Print.

This will print a test page and check the functionality of the HP PSC 1350.

2. If printing the self-test page did not resolve the issue, follow the steps below:

a. Shut down the computer.
b. Verify that the unit is switched on.
c. Unplug the unit from power and disconnect the connection port and wait 30 seconds.
d. Plug in the power only.
e. Repeat steps 2-4 two more times.
f. On the third time after plugging the unit into power, reconnect the connection port from the HP PSC 1350 to the computer.
g. Restart the computer and check the functionality.

3. If the issue still persists, perform a semi-full reset on the HP PSC 1350, by following the steps below:
CAUTION: A semi-full reset will reset the user settings to the factory defaults.

a. Disconnect, and then reconnect the power cord.
b. When the lights begin to flash, simultaneously press and hold the On/Resume button and the Number of Copies button.
c. When only the On/Resume light is flashing, release both buttons.

The reset is complete when the On/Resume light is steady.
