Appointment Time Changes in Outlook/Exchange Calendar

This is a supplementary message to an e-mail you received on February 16 about Information Systems’ comprehensive review of computing systems in preparation for Daylight Saving Time changes. This message pertains only to members of the Wake Forest Exchange Server pilot group. If you are receiving this message, you are a member of this group.

Information Systems installed an Exchange Server update on February 17. Outlook calendar appointments for members of the Exchange Server pilot are affected by the update in the following ways:

Calendar appointments entered or accepted prior to February 14
Calendar entries between March 11 and April 1 were corrected. Event update notifications were e-mailed after the server update. As with all Outlook calendar entries, attendees must respond to these notifications to correct and update the calendar entries.

Calendar appointments entered or accepted between February 14 and 17
An unanticipated effect of this update, undocumented by Microsoft, resulted in a change in meeting times. Meetings scheduled between March 11 and April 1 now appear one hour earlier than originally scheduled. The organizer must manually adjust these meetings and send an update to attendees. Attendees must respond to these notifications to correct and update the calendar entries.

Information Systems recommends that you carefully scrutinize your calendar between March 11 and April 1 and manually adjust times of your calendar entries if necessary.

Thank you for your patience as we complete our preparations for the changes in Daylight Saving Time. This is the last known Microsoft update for Exchange. Future updates will be posted online. If you have questions about this message, please contact the Information Systems Help Desk at xHELP, (x4357).
