Weekly Maintenance-Administrative Computing

As you are aware, Information Systems reserves time each Saturday from 9 a.m. to noon to perform maintenance on University computing systems.* Campus computing users expect periodic outages and lack of availability during that time frame. HP3000 maintenance requires a broader time span and occurs between 2 a.m. and noon on Saturdays.
To ensure efficient operation of administrative computing systems and to provide users with a standard maintenance schedule, Banner and Cognos will follow the same maintenance schedule as the HP3000. Effectively immediately, Banner and Cognos users should expect the servers to be unavailable from 2 a.m. until noon on Saturdays.
Users may request Banner and Cognos server availability during the normal Saturday downtime window when access is a necessity. In such cases, please contact the Help Desk at xHELP (x4357) at least three days in advance.

* Update: As of January, 2006, regular downtime for campus computing maintenance is scheduled from 7 a.m. to noon each Saturday.
