Using the R52 ThinkPad with the HP 5550 Printer
The new R52 ThinkPad needs software installed before you can use it with the HP 5550 printer, pictured above. Follow the instructions below to install the software. For best results, use a high-speed Internet connection and Mozilla Internet browser.

HP 5550 Software
1. Click the link above

Save the file to your desktop.

Minimize all windows and double-click 5550driver.exe
4. At the next window, click Unzip.

After it unzips, click OK, then Close.
6. Plug in the 5550 printer into the R52. You will see this screen.
Select No, not this time, then click Next. |

7. Select Install from a list or specific location (Advanced).
Then click Next. |

8. Click Browse |

9. Select 5550 Driver, then click OK. |

10. Verify that Include this location in the search is checked, and C:\UserData\Desktop\5550 Driver appears in the dropdown box.
Click Next and the software will begin to install. |

11. When complete, you will see a balloon in the lower right-hand side of the screen informing you that the printer is installed and ready to use. |
