Blackworm Virus The Blackworm virus infects your computer through an infected e-mail attachment, then waits until the third of the month to unleash its ill on your files. It was detected by most anti-virus programs, including Symantec, on Jan. 17, 2006. To avoid infecting your computer, do not open any unsolicited e-mail attachments. Additionally, do not open any e-mail with the following subject lines:

Do not open any hyperlink or attachment that you do not recognize! To prevent losing important information on your ThinkPad due to a virus, back-up your data regularly and always allow your weekly virus scan to run to completion! You can also scan for yourself.
